About Us

Burusho Maʰraka is a representative body of the Burusho people of Hunza, Nagir, and Yásin. The organization aims to centralize the literary efforts of the Burusho people for the preservation and development of the ancient Burushaski language.

What brings us together?

We strive to stay humble both in success and failure. Under the starry world, we compete with none but ourselves. We do not strive to encroach on any literary or intellectual territory to dethrone those who have already sacrificed their time and efforts for the language that we hold so close to our hearts. We believe Burushaski is a human language that needs our help to remain relevant in the lives of the next generation.
